Over the years, tests and research on the glazing systems have been done for the most part in Finland at Tampere University of Technology and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The new studies have confirmed the positive benefits that older research demonstrated, while also revealing many additional benefits of the balcony glazing systems.

    Preservation of balcony structures is one of the most significant benefits. Payback time depends on what condition the structures were in at the time of adding the glazing system to the balcony. The longest lifespans for concrete structures are achieved, when the finzone glazing systems are added to the building immediately after a balcony renovation. No other balcony renovation measures or solutions provide longer lifespans to the balcony structures than adding balcony glazing systems to the balconies.
