The architectural design of windows and doors Jun 08, 2018

The doors and windows are the units of the building and are the decorative symbols of the facade effect, which finally reflect the characteristics of the building. Although different buildings have different requirements for the design of doors and windows, the doors and windows are very different, but we can still find some rules.

    1. The window and door facades should conform to the aesthetic characteristics. When dividing the grid design, consider the following factors:

   1) The coordination of the proportions. As far as a single glass plate is concerned, the ratio of aspect ratio to gold is beautiful, and it is not appropriate to design squares and narrow rectangles with an aspect ratio of 1:2 or more.

   2) Framing of doors and windows facades must not only have certain rules, but also reflect changes, and seek laws in the course of changes; the division lines are dense and dense; the equal distances, equal size divisions show rigorous, solemn, serious; The free division shows rhythm, liveliness and movement.

   3) At least the horizontal grid lines of doors and windows in the same room and the same wall should be on the same horizontal line as much as possible, and the vertical lines should be aligned as much as possible.

   4) When designing doors and windows facades, the overall effect of the building should be considered, such as the contrast between actual and actual buildings, light and shadow effects, and symmetry.

  2. Matching of door and window colors (including the color of glass and profiles)

The matching of the colors of doors and windows is an important part of the final effect of the building. When determining the color, it is necessary to negotiate with the architects, owners, etc., and finally the architect's signature must be confirmed.

  3. Personalized design of doors and windows

According to the customer's different hobbies and aesthetic point of view, design a unique style of doors and windows.

  4. Permeability of doors and windows Door and window facades should not be provided with horizontal frames and mullion frames in order to avoid blocking the line of sight in the range of the height of the line of sight of the main vision part (1. 5m ~ 1. 8m). Some doors and windows require high transmittance glass or require a large open field for easy viewing of outdoor scenery.

  5. Lighting and ventilation of doors and windows

The ventilation area of the doors and windows and the number of moving fans shall meet the ventilation requirements of the building; at the same time, the lighting area of doors and windows shall also meet the requirements of the “Building Lighting Design Standards” (GB/T50033-2001) and the requirements of the architectural design drawings. Article 4.2.4 of the “Energy-saving Design Standards for Public Buildings” (GB50189-2005) stipulates that the area ratio of window walls facing each exterior window shall not be greater than 0.70. When the window-to-wall area ratio is less than 0.40, the visible light transmittance of the glass should not be less than 0.4.
